This 3 button key chain size remote is for NEW 2005 (and later) garage door openers by Liftmaster. The military radio equipment, also known as "Land Mobile Radio" (LMR) operates at 315MHz,with a purple learn button on motor head under light cover . Homeowners near these military bases may experience interference to their garage door openers that can cause the garage door opener to malfunction. In order to solve such interference problems as mentioned in the FCC Public Notice, homeowners can purchase a new liftmaster garage door operator OR a Conversion kit (includes a transmitter and a receiver) that operates on a different frequency that is not used by the LMR.

I purchased this over the weekend and it was delivered today. Upon receipt, the first thing I noticed was the size...it's much smaller than I expected. Very sleek. It connected with my garage door opener in 30 seconds. I can't comment on the longevity of the thing but I'm very impressed so far. Also, thanks to a previous reviewer who noted that this remote was for an opener with the "purple" learn button.

Excellent product; excellent range. Only risk is if you leave it in your pocket and accidentally press the button. This can cause unintended or dangerous consequences.

Raised buttons make it too easy to accidentally open the garage door when inadvertently pressed, for example, when in one's pocket. Both my car remotes have depressed buttons and such accidents rarely happened with my cars. Otherwise, the remote is fairly easy to program and works as intended.

Awesome product period! This opener made my life way easier. My garage door doesn't close automatically so I had to carry the bulky opener around... Not very convenient. Got this item took me literally 3 seconds to program and then it was over no more hauling around the bulky open and hello to the opener on my key chain ! Just a side note before buying it do some research and make sure that it will work with your garage door every model uses a different frequency. So make sure your opener has a purple learn button and a purple wire hanging.
